About Sue Mickolwin
Founder of Autism In My Wheelhouse™
Hi, I’m Sue, a lifelong professional in the autism field, and the creator of Autism In My Wheelhouse™, an 8-level thinking, problem-solving, and planning system for parents of children with autism.
For over 30 years, I’ve supported individuals with autism, in private homes, in schools, as a provincial autism consultant, and as an Applied Behaviour Analysis Facilitator. My role included helping children transition from therapy into full-time school. Through it all, one thing has always been clear: parents should be leading, not sidelined.
I first developed this system as a practical tool to help me problem-solve and plan systematically for each unique individual. I was their voice when they had none. As others saw its power, they asked me to teach it. Over time, it became one simple framework, a common language to unite families, schools, and teams.
Using this system, I can say with confidence: autism is in my wheelhouse. It’s my area of expertise, and my life’s passion is sharing that wheelhouse with you, parents walking this path.
Whether you're just starting or deep in the journey, my hope is that this system empowers you to become the CEO of your child’s life, planning with confidence, leading with purpose, and supporting your child into adulthood without losing yourself in the process.
You belong here.
